UBD Formalises Partnership with Chongqing University
Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) and Chongqing University (CQU) officially strengthened their institutional partnerships through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Wednesday, 28th January 2026.
The MoU was signed by Dr Hazri Haji Kifle, Vice-Chancellor of UBD, and Professor Dr Jun Yang, Vice-President of CQU. The signing was also witnessed by Dr Haji Abdul Hanif Dato Paduka Haji Mahadi, Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation and Sustainability) of UBD and Professor Dr Hui Xie, Deputy Secretary-General of University Network of Research Cooperation (iUNRC), Vice Director of the International Office and Vice Dean of the Institute of Science and Technology Development, CQU.
The signing marks an important milestone in strengthening institutional ties between UBD and CQU, reinforcing shared commitment to advancing academic excellence, research collaboration, and international engagement. The MoU provides a broad framework for cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including academic exchange, joint research initiatives, and collaborative activities that support innovation and capacity building.
The partnership strengthens collaborative efforts and reflects both universities’ aspirations in contributing meaningfully to sustainable development, future-oriented research, and global knowledge networks. The MoU underscores UBD’s continued commitment to expanding its global partnerships and strengthening its role as a leading research-intensive university in the region, all in alignment with Wawasan Brunei 2035.
