electrical-to-optical transducers, are ubiquitous in modern society and are becoming increasingly important in our day-to-day lives. Common examples include:<\/p><ul><li>light-emitting diodes (LEDs) used in home lighting,<\/li><li>organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) used in mobile phone displays, and<\/li><li>photovoltaic cells used to construct solar panels for clean electrical power generation.<\/li><\/ul><p>Together, these and related devices constitute a rapidly growing multi-billion-dollar market that relies on continuous technological innovation to meet ever-increasing consumer demands.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-a9ecf75 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"a9ecf75\" data-element_type=\"section\" understanding and innovation to this important field by conducting basic research into novel optoelectronic devices, with particular emphasis on emerging photovoltaics such as organic, dye-sensitized, and perovskite solar cells.<\/p><p>Among its objectives, the group hopes to develop air-processable photovoltaic and LED devices that can be prepared in Brunei\u2019s hot and humid climate without the need for costly cleanroom or inert atmosphere environments, which are more likely to be commercially viable compared with existing technologies that rely on air-sensitive or ultra-pure materials.<\/p><p>Ultimately, the vision of the research group is to become a regional centre of excellence for optoelectronic device fabrication, characterisation and modelling, which will help to bolster the reputation of UBD, attract international collaborators, and provide opportunities for intellectual property creation and collaboration with
